About the Role
As a SEN/ Alternative Provision Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with a range of learning difficulties, disabilities, or additional needs. You will plan and deliver tailored lessons, adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles, and work closely with teaching assistants, parents, and external professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that helps each pupil reach their full potential.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Create Safe Spaces: Foster a supportive, nurturing environment where students feel confident to take risks and grow academically.
- Personalise Learning: Develop and implement bespoke educational plans that address each student's unique needs and strengths.
- Support Families: Collaborate closely with families to extend learning beyond the classroom and build a strong support network.
- Inspire Growth: Deliver engaging, empathetic lessons that boost self-esteem, resilience, and academic achievement.
- Be a Role Model: Lead by example, promoting positive behaviours and values that encourage personal development and lifelong learning.
Who We're Looking For:
We're looking for individuals who are compassionate, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality education. Ideally, you will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (e.g., PGCE)
- Minimum two years' teaching experience
- Proven expertise delivering Maths, English, and Science aligned with the UK curriculum
- Experience across Key Stages 2 to 4
- Strong proficiency in English and experience working with students with SEN
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service and the legal right to work in the UK
- Comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding policies
