The individual has a learning disability and requires 24‑hour support to remain safe, healthy, and emotionally regulated. She prefers staff who are mature, confident, calm, and highly consistent. Staff must be able to maintain a positive, upbeat presence and provide reassurance throughout the day. Her behaviours can elevate when she feels ignored, when staff are not directly engaging with her, or when she is asked to wait. She may become verbally abusive, destructive, or withdraw to her room. She may also display behaviours that challenge, including self‑harm, ripping clothing, disruptive actions, or attempts to gain attention through shock behaviours.

Key Support Needs

  • Requires full assistance with personal care, bathing routines, hygiene, and appearance
  • Needs high levels of engagement, reassurance, and positive communication
  • Displays attention‑seeking behaviours, emotional dysregulation, and unpredictable escalation
  • May self‑harm through scratching or nipping
  • May damage clothing or furnishings
  • Requires staff to maintain a calm, confident, non‑reactive approach
  • Requires support with healthy eating, structured mealtimes, and cholesterol management
  • Needs encouragement to engage in safe activities such as music, colouring, and short walks
  • Requires staff to maintain a clean, safe environment with daily checks
  • Communicates verbally but may become chaotic, repetitive, or demanding when anxious
  • Requires staff to maintain professional boundaries, consistency, and emotional neutrality
  • Requires staff to follow all risk assessments and behaviour support plans precisely
