As an Outreach SEN Youth Mentor, you’ll support primary and secondary students with emotional, social, and educational needs across Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole. This flexible role allows you to build meaningful relationships with young people while helping them overcome barriers to learning, improve confidence, and achieve personal goals.

Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional support around family issues, peer pressure, mental health, and academic challenges
- Help students develop key life skills such as problem-solving, communication, and goal setting
- Build confidence and self-esteem by recognising strengths and achievements
- Act as a positive role model and mentor
- Support reintegration into education by addressing behavioural and emotional needs
- Offer guidance for older students and future pathways, including further education and employment
Who We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with young people, particularly those with SEN, SEMH, or challenging behaviour
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of mentoring and supporting young people with complex needs
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Right to work in the UK
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Has Business Insurance or willing to obtain
