I'm excited to be recruiting a proactive Finance Assistant to work in the accounts team for a customer-focused and fast-growing business in the Peterborough area. This position requires someone with excellent attention to detail who is keen to work alongside a friendly team. The role involves processing international payments and occasionally working with European currencies, so understanding this is key.
About You
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, with a relevant qualification such as AAT at minimum.
- Current experience in credit control.
- Well-rounded communication skills to interact with a variety of customers.
- Excellent Word and Excel skills.
Your Duties
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely processing and preparation of invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Support financial queries from staff and management, offering guidance on procedures.
- Improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Complete month-end processes, including bank and petty cash reconciliations.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Process supplier invoices and credits.
- Internal cash flow reporting.
- Experience with EU supplier accounts payable, exchange rates, and tax codes.
- Manage multiple tasks effectively with excellent organizational skills.
- Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
Salary £29,000 - £32,000 per year
