A part time gardener is required to support a team of 3 working in the garden of a private household. Days and hours are flexible, but ideally the clients are looking for someone who is able to do 3 x 8 hour days including Thursdays, Fridays and one other weekday. Hours 8am-4pm with two half hour breaks at 10am and 1pm.
You must be able to work under the management of the head gardeners and be happy working as part of a team. Someone eager, enthusiastic, keen to learn and work as part of a team is ideal. You must enjoy gardening, being outside and working to high standards.
Knowledge and experience not essential, but a passion for gardening, working outside and using machinery is required. Jobs will include:
- Hedge cutting
- Leaf blowing
- Mowing
- Strimming
- Keeping everything smart and tidy
- Weeding
- Assisting the gardeners with the fruit/vegetable gardens
Kitchen garden interest would be good, as the current gardener that runs this section will be able to offer an insurmountable amount of knowledge in this area so you would learn a lot. It is important you are reliable and committed long term.
This can be paid on a payroll or as self employed. Salary will depend on experience but for someone with prior experience using the machinery and working in gardens, the family will pay approx £20/hour or £25,000/annum based on 3 x 8 hour days a week.
