Suffolk New College is looking for an experienced Dog Grooming Assistant, or Dog Groomer, to support its purpose-built dog grooming salon. In your role, you will still be hands on and working with dogs, whilst helping learners to develop the skills and experience that they need to progress into industry whilst working in a structured, stable environment.

What the role involves:

You will be based in the College’s purpose-built salon, Countryside Paws Dog Grooming Salon, supporting learners and staff during practical assessments. Day to day, you would:

  • Support learners whilst they carry out grooms
  • Assist with styling and finishing dogs where needed
  • Help maintain a clean, safe and professional salon environment
  • Manage bookings and customer communication
  • Support stock control and equipment upkeep

The role is a combination of grooming, mentoring, and keeping the salon running smoothly.

  • Experience working as a Dog Grooming Assistant, or Dog Groomer in a salon
  • Confidence styling and finishing dogs
