Our innovative and growing Directorate in Engineering, Construction & Building Technology (ECBT) at Suffolk New College is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geospatial Surveying Lecturer to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an academic, industry professional, or recent graduate to shape the future of geospatial education.

The Role

As a Lecturer, you will be primarily responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and assessment across our level 3 and level 6 programmes. You will be expected to:

  • Design and deliver engaging lectures, practical sessions, and field-based training in core geospatial surveying topics.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of existing and new modules and programmes, ensuring they reflect current industry practice and technological advancements (e.g., drone-based photogrammetry, terrestrial laser scanning, advanced GNSS).
  • Work closely with our apprenticeships team to ensure the curriculum taught in college aligns with the requirements of the apprenticeship standards.
  • Work with managers to propose short, commercial or CPD courses for those already in industry.
  • Engage in scholarly activity and/or research to maintain currency and contribute to the academic profile of the department.
  • Participate in administrative duties related to teaching and departmental management.
  • Liaise with industry partners to ensure the curriculum meets employer needs.

This post is based at our Ipswich campus, however Suffolk New College is a multi-campus site therefore you will be required to work at and travel between other campuses to suit the needs of the learning, and make best use of our spaces.
