Role Overview

As a Health and Safety Advisor, you support the Health and Safety Manager by providing expert advice, guidance and training on all health and safety matters affecting employees, activities and workplaces. You’ll monitor compliance with legal requirements and help shape policies, procedures, and practices that ensure East Suffolk Services meets its occupational health and safety obligations.

What you will need

  • You will be enthusiastic, methodical and approachable, with strong investigative, analytical and communication skills.
  • Previous health and safety knowledge and experience.
  • Previous experience in identifying non‑compliance and unsafe practices.
  • The ability to liaise with service leads and teams – supporting and coaching them to achieve continuous improvement.
  • Experience of developing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Experience of undertaking complex health and safety incident investigations.
  • A NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) qualification is essential at the entry point of the career grade, with NEBOSH Diploma Level 6 required for the higher career grade.
