Acton CEVC Primary School is a friendly village school at the heart of the community. We provide a happy, caring, creative learning environment, with an absolute commitment to improvement, where children are encouraged to Strive, Support and Succeed.

We are looking to recruit a skilled individual, who has experience working with pupils with SEND, as Learning Support Assistant in Key Stage 1. This role will also include a lunch duty within the school day.

The role will involve working under the guidance of teaching staff to promote the learning and personal development of the pupil, following the pupil’s Education Health Care Plan. We are looking for someone who:

  • is supportive of our inclusive ethos and committed to meeting the needs of all children
  • has a good level of education, including Maths and English at GCSE equivalent C grade
  • enjoys working with others and has a positive outlook in all situations
  • has high expectations of themselves and others, and is focussed on raising standards
  • recognises the uniqueness of every child
  • has an understanding of how and why children behave in differing ways
  • has the ability to tailor learning experiences to meet the needs of individual children
  • will support our school’s Christian ethos.

We can offer:

  • a friendly and supportive staff team and governing body
  • support for professional development
  • motivated and enthusiastic children who love learning.

Job shares and part time candidates may be considered. This is a fixed term appointment to provide support to a named pupil with Special Educational Needs, which will continue until such time as that named pupil either leaves the school or no longer requires the type of support being provided. At which time that contract will automatically expire, unless terminated earlier by you or by Acton CEVC Primary School. The support is expected to last for approximately 5 years, although the school cannot guarantee you any minimum or maximum period of employment. In accepting this appointment, you would agree that, as stated, when the pupil no longer requires the support, your contract of employment may be terminated.

Acton CEVC Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

For an informal discussion please call the school office on 01787 377089 and speak to Jonathan Gray, our Headteacher.

Closing date: 12pm, 8 May 2026.
