Woolpit Parish Council is seeking to appoint an assistant to the Parish Clerk. Woolpit has a growing population and a thriving local community. Growth brings both benefits and challenges, and we need someone who wishes to have a role at the heart of the community with good communication, organisational and IT skills.
You will have good administrative and literacy skills; they will be organised, flexible and able to show initiative. The post is part time and flexible, with the working hours initially set at ten hours per week. Attendance at evening meetings and occasional weekend events will be required, for which time off in lieu will be granted.
This is partly a training post, with the possibility of promotion to a more senior role. The successful applicant will already hold, or commit to work towards, the Introduction to Local Council Administration (ILCA) qualification. Progression to the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CILCA) may be supported for the right candidate. There will also be substantial learning opportunities ‘on the job’.
Salary based on the NALC national salary scales, starting at SCP point 13, which is £15.06 per hour, (£29,064 full time equivalent) Pro-rata £7,831.20 for ten hours per week plus Nest Pension Scheme.
