Chilton Community Primary School is seeking a caring, passionate and organised After School Club Leader to lead our popular after‑school provision. This is a wonderful opportunity to support children in a safe, nurturing and engaging environment at the end of the school day.
As After School Club Leader, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a range of fun, age‑appropriate activities for children aged 4–11. You will create a welcoming and inclusive environment where pupils feel safe, supported and able to enjoy their time after school. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and leading engaging activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games and homework support
- Ensuring the safety, welfare and safeguarding of all children
- Preparing and serving snacks, following food hygiene and allergy procedures
- Maintaining daily registers and records, including incidents and parent communication
- Setting up and clearing away equipment, maintaining a clean and organised space
- Building positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers and school staff
- Supervising staff, volunteers or playworkers where applicable
- Monitoring resources and reporting any supply needs
About you
Essential:
- Experience working with children aged 4–11
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Ability to plan and lead structured activities
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- First Aid qualification or willingness to undertake training
- Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification (or equivalent experience)
Desirable:
- Food hygiene certification
- Experience leading or supervising others
- SEN experience
- Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training
