Chilton Community Primary School is seeking a caring, passionate and organised After School Club Leader to lead our popular after‑school provision. This is a wonderful opportunity to support children in a safe, nurturing and engaging environment at the end of the school day.

As After School Club Leader, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a range of fun, age‑appropriate activities for children aged 4–11. You will create a welcoming and inclusive environment where pupils feel safe, supported and able to enjoy their time after school. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and leading engaging activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games and homework support
  • Ensuring the safety, welfare and safeguarding of all children
  • Preparing and serving snacks, following food hygiene and allergy procedures
  • Maintaining daily registers and records, including incidents and parent communication
  • Setting up and clearing away equipment, maintaining a clean and organised space
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers and school staff
  • Supervising staff, volunteers or playworkers where applicable
  • Monitoring resources and reporting any supply needs

About you

Essential:

  • Experience working with children aged 4–11
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to plan and lead structured activities
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • First Aid qualification or willingness to undertake training
  • Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification (or equivalent experience)

Desirable:

  • Food hygiene certification
  • Experience leading or supervising others
  • SEN experience
  • Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training
