Job Description

  • Address: Otley and Witnesham Partnership, Witnesham, Ipswich, Suffolk IP6 9NT
  • Salary: £23,657 pro rata
  • Hours: 27.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year
  • Contract: Permanent. Required as soon as possible

Otley and Witnesham are both lovely, small village schools on the outskirts of Ipswich. The children are delightful, parents supportive and the team fabulous! The federation is working collaboratively in order to develop the highest quality education for children.

We are seeking to appoint a One-to-One Learning Support Assistant to share the support of children with social communication difficulties and / or cognition and learning needs.

The role is varied, challenging and rewarding. It demands high levels of commitment along with the ability to promote positive relationships with parents/carers and staff from other statutory agencies in order to support the educational progress of the pupils.

You will possess empathy, personal resilience, understanding, patience and be passionate about working with children to provide a calm learning environment.

You will:

  • be motivated and confident
  • demonstrate the ability to use your initiative
  • work effectively within a team to support the work of teachers in providing high quality learning opportunities for the pupils
  • be able to implement strategies to support the child following advice from the SENDCo and/or Specialist Teachers involved
  • model high quality social interactions with other children to support playtimes.

Full training and support will be provided but experience of working with children with social communication difficulties and / or cognition and learning needs would be beneficial / desirable.
