Horizon School are seeking a School Engagement Practitioner to join our team. At Horizon School, we support young people who are finding it challenging to succeed in mainstream education. We offer short-term intervention placements to identify any barriers to them being able to engage positively in their mainstream school and support students with strategies to enable them to achieve their potential.

The key objective of a School Engagement Practitioner is to support students and families during the induction process into Horizon School, the transition process back to their mainstream schools, support to encourage good attendance, and be the main point of contact for families and dual registered schools and to be a member of the safeguarding team. An essential part of this role is to ensure effective liaising with Welfare and SEND Coordinator to arrange meetings etc and use of school systems to document all information.

You will be expected to have considerable expertise/specialism in SEMH, Trauma informed, Restorative approaches and SEND.
