We’re a new, growing organisation, full of energy, ambition, and purpose. As part of our team, you’ll play an important role in helping us shape high-quality, efficient services that people rely on every single day. This is more than just a job. This is a fantastic opportunity to support, and give back to, your local community.

We currently have an opportunity to join our Bereavement Services team as a Team Leader.

Your role

We are looking for a compassionate and organised Bereavement Services Team Leader to support the smooth delivery of cemetery and bereavement services across East Suffolk. This varied role combines operational co-ordination with administrative oversight, ensuring services are delivered with professionalism, dignity and care. You will co-ordinate day-to-day activities on site, support burial and interment arrangements, and act as a key point of contact for families, funeral directors and other stakeholders. Working closely with the Bereavement Services Assistant Manager, you’ll help maintain accurate records, uphold health and safety and compliance standards and ensure a high-quality, sensitive service for our communities.

What you will need

You’ll bring experience working in a customer-focused environment, including supporting individuals in sensitive or distressing circumstances. A confident communicator, you’ll build positive relationships with a wide range of people, demonstrating empathy, tact and professionalism at all times. You’ll be well organised, able to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records, with good IT skills across standard systems. Experience in bereavement or cemetery services, knowledge of relevant processes or regulations, and co-ordinating experience would be advantageous. You will either hold a bereavement management qualification or be willing to work towards one with our support.

Do you have the skills, experience, or potential to succeed in this role? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
