Gorseland Primary School are seeking a Teaching Assistant (TA)/Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) to join our staff.
Gorseland is a larger than average, two-form entry primary school with a large nursery and two specialist units. We are an inclusive learning community where children and staff alike value being ready, respectful and safe in our endeavours to be the best we can be. As a staff, we feel it is our duty to foster and celebrate a love of learning through developing children who are self-confident, hardworking and resilient. Happy children who achieve success academically, socially and emotionally are proud children, a pride that extends to the adults who guide and support them here at Gorseland.
At Gorseland we are aware of the ever-increasing challenges and changes in pupils’ educational and social lives. This is having an increased impact on their attendance, social, emotional and mental health needs and readiness to learn and we need to respond to these demands. This post responds to this and aims to ensure that pupils (and families, where relevant) are supported with their personal development, behaviour, attendance and welfare for children to achieve their potential.
The ELSA role will involve supporting and working with, and under the guidance of, the Pupil Support Officer and SENDCo to ensure that every child achieves their learning potential by breaking down barriers to learning and wellbeing.
Does this resonate with you? If so, are you an outstanding, passionate and tenacious practitioner ready to join our experienced team? If you are a positive, well-motivated individual, who works well with a range of stakeholders as part of a team, do consider applying! Experience working within the early help sector would be beneficial.
