Set in 200 acres of Suffolk countryside overlooking the Stour Estuary and within an hour of London, Royal Hospital School (RHS) is a leading, co-educational boarding and day school providing a full and broad education fit for the modern world.

Royal Hospital School is seeking a forward-thinking and ambitious Head of Design and Technology to lead a successful department with outstanding resources in a school that values and promotes the Creative Arts and STEM. The role would suit an excellent D&T teacher ready for leadership, or an experienced Head of Department seeking a new challenge. As the role encompasses oversight of Food Technology, the ability to teach Food Technology to at least Key Stage 4 is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Design and Technology department.
  • Implement curriculum and resources across Design and Technology.
  • Oversee Food Technology provision and ensure delivery to Key Stage 4 standards.
  • Support colleagues and foster a collaborative teaching environment.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, welfare, and health & safety policies.
Qualifications
  • Strong background in Design and Technology teaching.
  • Experience as a head of department or a forward-looking senior teacher.
  • Ability to teach Food Technology to at least Key Stage 4.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
