About Us
At The Foxhall Centre Lavender Trust, our mission is simple: Where older people come first. We provide high-quality day care services in our recently refurbished, purpose-built, fully accessible ground-floor centre. Adopting a deeply person-centred approach, we assist older individuals and those living with dementia or specialist needs to maintain their independence, socialise, and thrive in a bright, caring environment.
About the Role
We are seeking an inspirational and proactive Day Centre Manager to take the operational lead at our day centre during our current 3-day opening schedule (Tuesday to Thursday). You will be responsible for creating a safe, vibrant, and welcoming haven for our members.
You will manage the delivery of our daily packages—which include interactive social activities (crafts, music, gardening, baking, and reminiscence), a fresh two-course lunch, and essential care support like assistance with medication.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Daily Management: Lead the day-to-day operations of the centre during active days, ensuring full compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, and food hygiene standards
-
Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and motivate a dedicated team of fully trained care staff and volunteers
-
Person-Centred Activity Planning: Oversee and tailor individual care plans and engaging daily entertainment calendars to meet various cognitive and physical abilities
-
Community and Stakeholder Liaison: Manage private and funded member referrals via Adult Community Services, family members, and local healthcare professionals.
-
Financial and Quality Assurance: Maintain accurate administrative records, manage daily session operational metrics, and continuously consult with members to build on our excellent reputation.
What We Are Looking For
-
proven management or leadership experience within an adult social care setting or similar day care provision
-
strong expertise in elderly care and specialist dementia support
-
relevant professional qualification (such as an NVQ Level 3/4 or Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care)
-
a warm, compassionate leader with exceptional communication skills and a gift for fostering an atmosphere full of laughter and joy
-
up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding, medication management, and person-centred care practices.
Note: This position is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
