Hours: 18.5, with flexible working options available

Contract: Fixed Term or Secondment to cover an absent post holder until March 2027.

Your role and responsibilities

  • Work directly with families to support the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual wellbeing of children from pregnancy to age five.
  • Deliver the Healthy Child Programme and contribute to the Children’s Centre statutory framework.
  • Plan and deliver evidence‑based universal and targeted services for children and families.
  • Complete home visits and group sessions focusing on early intervention and prevention.
  • Support parents to build strong bonds with their children and develop confidence in their parenting role.
  • Work closely with partner agencies to safeguard children and contribute to assessments and meetings.
  • Mentor students and support the development of other practitioners.
  • Maintain high professional standards in line with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and clinical governance requirements.

You’ll be supported to grow, reflect on your practice, and make a meaningful difference every day.

You will need

  • Registration as a Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) Registered Nurse.
  • Experience of working directly with children, young people, and families.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, national guidance, and best practice.
  • Confidence working with families experiencing complex needs or early signs of difficulty.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.
  • Experience of multi‑agency working and collaborative practice.
  • Good IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • A reflective approach and commitment to continuous professional development.
