Suffolk County Council is looking for a creative and driven Capital Project Manager - The Foundry to help reimagine public services for the 21st century. If you’re passionate about finding new solutions and making a real difference, we want to hear from you.

Your role will focus on the end-to-end project management of an innovative capital project to reimagine Ipswich County Library as The Foundry: a modern and flexible library space. This role includes working with all contractors and professional bodies to ensure the project remains safe, compliant and on track for completion. You will take a lead on budget management for the project to ensure it remains on course financially and that the requirements of funders are fully satisfied.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all quality assurance processes are undertaken and meet the overall objectives of the vision as well as the individual funders.
  • Collaborating across the wider libraries team and engaging local library users through creative means of communication.

You will need an appropriate Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience in a related area of work. A Project Management Qualification or certification (PRINCE2, Agile etc.) is desirable.

Key skills required:

  • Demonstrable project management skills and the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Sound budget management skills, including the ability to reprofile spend to meet evolving needs of the project.
  • Good people and communication skills to work alongside internal teams, external contractors, and communities.
  • A passion for public spaces and ensuring communities have access to beautiful but functional spaces.
