Ipswich High School seeks to appoint an outstanding, passionate and dynamic classroom practitioner as Head of Computer Science with effect from 1 September 2025. You will be required to teach Computer Science at both GCSE and A-Level.
In addition to finding an outstanding teacher, we are seeking to appoint an individual who is excited by the opportunity to build on the department’s successes to date and has a clear vision for how this will continue during the coming years.
Located on an idyllic 87-acre campus on the banks of the River Orwell, Ipswich High School enjoys an enviable reputation for delivering outstanding academic results whilst maintaining a warm, welcoming and happy community of over 500 pupils, aged 5-18. Working at Ipswich High School suits those who have a genuine commitment to both the academic and personal development of young people as well as the willingness to contribute to the wide co-curricular and community activity of our school.
You will have the opportunity to join our ambitious, friendly and caring community of staff and students and enjoy teaching small classes (usually 10-15 pupils) of polite, respectful and hardworking pupils as well as benefiting from terms and conditions which include a maximum of 80% direct teaching time and 18 weeks of holiday per year.
