SEND Learning Support Assistant

Burton End Primary Academy is hiring a SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our new Reception and Key Stage One specialist SEND unit. The role involves supporting children with special educational needs and working closely with the Lead Teacher to deliver a multi-sensory curriculum.

Employment Details

• Hours: 33.25 hours per week, 38 weeks per year
• Contract: Permanent (required as soon as possible)
• Reference: 8108
• Location: Haverhill, Suffolk CB9 9DE
• Salary: £18,924 – £19,528 per annum (£25,185 – £25,989 pro rata)
• Closing date: 9 am, 31 December 2025

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the SEND curriculum for children in Reception and Key Stage One.
• Assist children with special educational needs in daily learning activities and whole‑school participation.
• Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff to plan and implement individual learning support plans.
• Maintain accurate records of learning progress and support requirements.

Key Qualifications

• Level 3 childcare qualification or equivalent, or similar.
• GCSE equivalent in English and Mathematics.
• Previous experience working with children with special educational needs.
• Strong team‑working skills and effective communication with staff and parents.
