Bildeston Primary School seeks a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support the teaching in our R/Y1 and Y1/Y2 classes, aiding in splitting children into separate year groups for maths and phonics. The TA may cover classes during short-term absences and will provide support to raise standards by working in class, with individuals or groups.

Salary: £30,060 pro rata
Hours: 19 hours per week, 8.30 –12.00 Monday – Friday, plus 1.5 hours planning
Responsibilities:
- Support teaching in R/Y1 and Y1/Y2 classes, helping separate year groups for maths and phonics.
- Cover entire class during periods of short-term absence.
- Provide support to raise standards of achievement for all pupils by working in class, with individuals or groups of pupils.
Qualifications:
- High‑Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification or equivalent experience and suitable qualifications in English and mathematics.
- Experience working in a primary school setting.
- Regularly delivered whole‑class or group teaching, both from own and school planning.
- Confidence in positive classroom management.
- Good understanding of how children learn and ability to adapt to their needs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise closely with teachers and other staff.
- Good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
