The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

This Facilities Officer role will involve you being the eyes and ears of the Hadleigh Town Council at the Layham Road Sports Ground, the play areas and the Cemetery. You will visit these areas on a daily basis ensuring they are clean, tidy and well-kept as well as dealing with any issues. You will also ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and carry out regular testing of alarms and systems.

The working hours per week will usually be 3 hours per day in the mornings plus occasional evening/weekend working when the pavilion is in use or events are taking place.

Your responsibilities:

  • Day to day management of the Layham Road Sports Ground and pavilion (this includes daily checks on the land and building, weekly fire alarm checks and monthly emergency lighting checks);
  • Day to day management of the Play Areas and Cemetery (this includes daily/weekly checks, litter picking, weeding and sweeping);
  • Keeping the High Street and other areas off the High Street in a clean and tidy state to include weeding, litter picking, sweeping.

You will need:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including an ability to relate to, and communicate with councillors, staff and public.
  • Experience of using tools and equipment to carry out gardening/grounds maintenance work.
  • Practical experience of working in a customer facing role.
  • Ability to use Outlook and other IT programmes.

Hadleigh Town Council have this position available due to the retirement of the current post holder; and are looking for someone who cares about the look and feel of the Town to join them. Hadleigh has a growing population of nearly 10,000 people and is located between Ipswich and Sudbury, our offices are based in the historic Grade I listed building, The Guildhall which is located just off the Market Place. We will offer you training opportunities as part of the role.
