Breckland School are seeking a Primary Teacher to work within our secondary school setting, supporting KS3 students who are working at a primary level and require additional structure, intervention and consistency in their learning. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on students’ academic progress and confidence at a crucial transition point in their education.

You will join a dedicated and supportive team, working closely with secondary colleagues to deliver high-quality core subject teaching to groups of low-attaining students. We are looking for a reflective and creative practitioner who understands the primary curriculum in depth and can adapt approaches to meet the needs of older learners who benefit from primary-style pedagogy. A secure knowledge of phonics and early reading strategies is essential, enabling students to close gaps in literacy and develop the foundational skills required for success as they progress further through KS3.

You will play a key role in delivering targeted interventions designed to address gaps in learning, build independence and re-engage students with education. You will be confident in using assessment to identify barriers to learning and in planning structured, supportive lessons that promote progress, resilience and self-belief. Collaboration is central to this role, and you will work alongside subject teachers, SEND staff and pastoral teams to ensure a coherent and inclusive approach to student support.

This role would suit a primary teacher looking to apply their expertise in a secondary context, or a teacher with a passion for inclusion and intervention who is keen to work with students requiring additional support at KS3. Above all, we are seeking a colleague who places students’ best interests at the heart of their practice and is committed to helping every learner achieve their potential.

Breckland School is a good and improving school, well regarded by the local community with whom it works closely. Staff enjoy working here, and our students are well behaved, supported and keen to learn. We offer a positive working environment where professional collaboration and development are strongly valued.

Unity Schools Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils. All successful candidates will be subject to rigorous pre‑employment checks, including an enhanced DBS. We are also committed to equality, diversity and fair recruitment practices, and we oppose all forms of unlawful discrimination. We value inclusive working practices and diverse teams. If you wish to work part‑time or as a job‑share, we will accommodate this wherever possible. We particularly welcome applications from under‑represented groups.
