This is an exciting opportunity for a permanent Teacher of Music. We are preferably looking to appoint on a part time 0.3 FTE basis but the exact FTE can be discussed further. The team is dynamic and hardworking group of teachers. Farlingaye is a school that highly values the Arts and this is reflected in the breadth of opportunities afforded to our students within the creative arts faculty as well as the support from staff across the school.
There is a shared commitment to high standards of teaching and learning as well as concern for each individual student you work with. The person appointed will be assured of considerable support; we are a very successful, driven, hardworking faculty who are keen to share ideas and the principle of mutual professional support is paramount.
The music department fosters a sense of teamwork and aspiration, where we all work towards a common goal. We have a strong tradition of contributing to the wider community and engaging students in a busy and inclusive extra-curricular life. A new member of the team who is willing to share ideas and contribute to exciting initiatives would be a welcome addition.
Farlingaye High School is a popular and successful school, located in Woodbridge, a pleasant market town situated on the River Deben in Suffolk and just 7 miles from Ipswich. We are a creative school with excellent resources, lovely students and great results. Our most recent Ofsted report (March 2022) graded us ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ areas.
We are part of East Anglian Schools Trust (EAST) alongside Kesgrave High School, Bungay High School, Holbrook Academy and Castle East School, EAST SCITT and five primary schools: Aldeburgh, Easton, Leiston, Saxmundham and Wickham Market whom we work closely with. We are committed to providing excellent staff opportunities through developing and promoting our staff and offering an excellent CPD and support programme for new staff. We are also extremely pleased to have launched our own teacher training provider: EAST SCITT. This allows us to award QTS and also QTS + PGCE Programmes within both Primary and Secondary schools.
