Contract: Fixed term or Secondment for 2 years (funding)

Salary: £34,434 – £37,280 per annum (pro rata for part time)

We’re focused on making a meaningful difference to communities across Suffolk. As an Environment and Energy Assistant Project Manager, you’ll help shape Suffolk’s future through innovation, collaboration, and community impact. If you want to make a difference, then this might be the job for you!

Your Role And Responsibilities

  • Work with the Warm Homes Suffolk team to develop and deliver a programme of Fuel Poverty reduction measures to Suffolk residents.
  • Identify and prioritise fundable works that will reduce fuel poverty and improve energy efficiency of Suffolk homes.
  • Project manage small‑scale works, liaising with partners, the public and contractors.
  • Collect and analyse information on homes and communities likely to benefit from funding.
  • Support effective performance management and reporting of key indicators.
  • Identify potential risks and manage mitigation.
  • Represent the County Council and other Local Authorities at routine meetings with the public, contractors and external organisations on issues related to domestic energy efficiency and fuel poverty.
  • Contribute to service development and improvement.

You will need

  • The ability to manage various tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • The skills and experience to work in a team supporting energy efficiency and clean energy retrofit projects that will allow Suffolk residents to reduce fuel poverty and carbon emissions.
  • Willingness and ability to learn about energy efficiency and clean heat.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with partner organisations and contractors at all levels.
  • Passion for delivering environmental improvements and improving the lives of Suffolk residents.
  • A good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and web‑based tools.

The Warm Homes Suffolk Team are improving houses in Suffolk to reduce energy loss, reduce costs and make homes warm and healthy for residents. You would be working with a team that helps identify eligible households to take advantage of government funding. We then work with government, partners and installers to upgrade housing. The Warm Homes Team is a consortium made up of all the County, District and Borough councils in Suffolk.
