Job Purpose: I am seeking a Personal Assistant to keep me company, drive me, and help me do the things I enjoy such as shopping and going to the cinema. This may also include attending medical appointments with me.
About Me: I am a 54-year-old single female, a survivor of 2 strokes, and I use an electric wheelchair as well as a manual wheelchair. I am independent and like to try things before asking for help. My hobbies have diminished due to the lack of a driving license, but I have previously enjoyed swimming and archery. I attend a Pilates class, love shopping, enjoy baking for others, going to the cinema, and eating out. I am a non-smoker/non-drinker and have no pets.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assistance with getting in and out of buildings.
- Driving me to activities and possibly some appointments.
- Helping me navigate outside as pavements can be difficult.
- Keeping me company.
- Assisting with shopping and carrying bags.
Personal Specification:
Essential Criteria: Ability to put my wheelchair in and out of the car, full clean driving license, and access to your own vehicle.
Desirable Criteria: DBS check.
Summary Terms and Conditions:
- Hours: 8 hours per week negotiable.
- Pay rate: £15.00 per hour.
- Annual leave: Equivalent to 5.6 weeks.
- Expenses: Reimbursed for prior agreed expenses.
- Sick pay: May be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).
- Pension: Statutory obligations via the NEST pension scheme.
