Support Worker required in Lowestoft, Suffolk. 4 hours available per week (flexible). £12.49 per hour.

Job purpose: To enable me to go to clubs and allow my mum and dad to spend time with my sibling.

About me: I’m a 6-year-old boy looking for a patient, kind and nurturing Support worker to help me go to clubs and out in the community so my parents can spend time with my sibling. I have a pet hamster; I love going out in my buggy and listening to music. I’m very shy of new people at first but once you’ve gained my trust, I will become attached. I can be cheeky and very loving, but I can also be unpredictable and become dysregulated very quickly. I’m routine driven and need clear short-spoken language. Please note my parents smoke but not in the house. You will be responsible to my mum and dad.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support me when going to the toilet
  • Change my nappies and clothes
  • Support me to go to clubs and out in the community

  • Previous experience with children who have ASD and challenging behaviour

  • Driving licence and access to own vehicle

Summary terms and conditions:

  • Hours, days and times of work: 4 hours per week (can be flexible)
  • Pay rate: £12.49 per hour
  • Annual leave: The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally done during 5.6 weeks (statutory entitlement).
  • Expenses: You will be reimbursed for prior agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
  • Sick pay: I do not operate a private sick pay scheme but provided you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).
  • Pension: I do not operate a private pension scheme but I will fulfil my statutory obligations via the NEST pension scheme.

  • References: If successful, you will be required to provide details of two referees, one of which must be your current or most recent employer, or character references if you have not been employed.
