Main duties of the job:
- Lead the Federations digital and data strategy, ensuring alignment with NHS priorities and supporting service transformation across Suffolk.
- Support member practices with digital innovation and transformation to improve patient outcomes, operational performance and workforce sustainability.
- Oversee and manage the Federations digital and data infrastructure, including the mobilisation and delivery of the Suffolk GP IT contract from July 2026.
- Lead system-wide digital and data programmes, working collaboratively with ICB colleagues and wider partners.
- Build and develop a high-performing digital and data team, promoting a strong culture of data quality, information governance and continuous improvement.

Suffolk GP Federation CIC is a not-for-profit community interest company that supports Primary Care across Suffolk and North East Essex, delivering NHS services such as Podiatry, Ultrasound, Diabetes and Urgent Care including the Out of Hours face-to-face Service.
Job responsibilities:
We are looking for a Head of Digital and Data to join the Federation and lead our digital and data strategy at a time of significant transformation across the system. You will join our Central Team and be a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The role is central to delivering a portfolio of NHS services across Suffolk, including Podiatry, Ultrasound and Urgent Care.
Contract type: Full-time, permanent (37.5 hours per week, predominantly Monday‑Friday).
Primary location: Walton (Felixstowe), Suffolk (with system-wide working).
Salary: Band 8b/8c equivalent, depending on experience.

Person Specification:
- Postgraduate qualification (Masters level) in one or more of the following: Digital health / informatics, Data science / analytics, Health systems / health management, Leadership or management OR equivalent level of significant senior experience in digital/data leadership within healthcare.
- Evidence of delivering measurable improvements such as operational performance.
- Experience working directly with General practice / Primary Care Networks.
- Experience working with Integrated Care Systems (ICS/ICB level).
- Experience mobilising or managing large-scale IT contracts (e.g. GP IT services).
