You will ensure that our patients who are unable to attend the surgery receive equitable access to care. Support routine health checks and carry out preliminary assessments as part of long-term condition review processes under the direction of the nursing and GP team. Record clinical observations including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, weight, urinalysis, diabetic foot checks and blood glucose monitoring.
Main duties of the job
You'd be suited to this role if you have experience working as an HCA or in a patient-facing role. You will need a relevant Care Certificate, NVQ Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent experience. You will have a good understanding of long-term condition monitoring and competence in venepuncture, blood pressure and pulse checks, understanding the importance of preliminary health checks.

Job responsibilities
Healthcare Assistant (HCA) Housebound and Care Home Patients. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HCA to provide high-quality, compassionate care and support to patients who are housebound or living in care homes, under the supervision of clinicians. This role is predominantly based in Haverhill but will include some travel within the Long Melford, Lavenham and Glemsford areas. This role involves driving a Suffolk GP Federation vehicle to undertake patient visits, so the successful candidate must hold a full UK driving license.
Contract type
Permanent Part Time: We are looking for someone to work with us for 28.5 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 8:00am to 6:30pm)
Salary: £24,937 to £26,598 (Band 3) Pro-Rata
