As part of our team, you’ll play an important role in helping us shape high-quality, efficient services that people rely on every single day. This is more than just a job. This is a fantastic opportunity to support, and give back to, your local community.
We have an exciting opportunity for either an experienced Transport Manager or an aspiring transport professional ready to take the next step in their career. Depending on your experience and qualifications, you will either step into a Transport Manager role or join as an Assistant Transport Manager, with a structured development pathway to gain your CPC qualification and progress into the full role.
Your role: In this key role, you’ll work closely with our Senior Transport Manager to ensure full legal compliance with Department for Transport requirements. You’ll champion safe and legal vehicle operations across our fleet - providing guidance, training, and practical support to managers while helping shape a strong safety culture throughout the organisation. From contributing to accident investigations to maintaining accurate compliance documentation, your work will play a vital role in keeping our people, vehicles, and communities safe. This is your chance to make a meaningful impact every single day.
If you are a fully CPC-qualified Transport Manager, you will be named on the organisation’s Vehicle Operator Licence (O’ Licence). If you are not yet qualified but have a positive attitude and experience in transport co-ordination or management, we will support you to gain your CPC qualification, with a view to being named on the O’ Licence on completion.
You will have the benefit of:
- A consistent Monday-Friday work pattern meaning you’ll be working 7.4 hours a day.
- No night shifts. No Saturdays. We respect your time, value your expertise and support a healthy work-life balance.
- Join a role that brings variety every day as you collaborate with colleagues across the organisation, building strong relationships and contributing to meaningful work.
- Be welcomed into a supportive, motivated and ambitious team where your contributions are valued, your growth is encouraged, and you’re empowered to thrive.
What you will need: You will need a full UK Driving Licence with Category B entitlement. You will also have knowledge of operator licensing requirements and legislation, and proven excellent communication, decision making and problem-solving skills. If you think you have what it takes to be successful in this role, even if you don’t meet all of the essential requirements, please apply. We would appreciate the opportunity to consider your application.
