Bardwell Primary School is seeking an engaging and supportive 1 to 1 Teaching Assistant to join our team from May 2026.

About the role:

Bardwell CofE Primary School is seeking a caring, committed, and engaging SEN 1 to 1 Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and nurturing primary school environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference in a child’s learning journey. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENDco, and external professionals to provide tailored 1-to-1 support. We can offer you a warm and welcoming school environment with supportive staff, parents and governors.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide 1 to 1 support, ensuring access to the curriculum and full participation in school life
  • Implement individual learning and care plans under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDco
  • Monitor progress and keep accurate records in line with school and SEND protocols
  • Collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies
  • Promote a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience working with children with SEND
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to meet individual needs
  • The ability to follow direction and also use initiative
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent (desirable).
