In this varied role, you will work collaboratively within East Suffolk Council's Funding Team to support the delivery of a high-quality funding service across the Council. You will work closely with the Economic Development & Regeneration and Communities teams, helping to attract and manage funding that supports priority projects and delivers benefits for local communities and businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Secure and maximise external funding to support economic development, regeneration, community and business initiatives across East Suffolk.
  • Identify funding opportunities and support the development of high-quality funding bids.
  • Manage and deliver a range of Council-led grant programmes, including Sizewell C, Enabling Communities and Community Partnership budgets.
  • Assess applications, undertake due diligence, monitor funded projects and ensure funding is allocated fairly and achieves real impact.
  • Provide practical funding advice and signposting to external organisations, promote funding opportunities to internal and external audiences, and contribute positively to a collaborative, values‐led working culture.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with external funding, ideally within local government, economic development, regeneration or community-focused environments.
  • Confidence supporting or leading funding applications and managing grant programmes.
  • Strong understanding of funding bodies and relevant national, regional and local policy frameworks.
  • Experience working with businesses, communities and a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Analytical, detail-focused with good numeracy, research and data‐handling skills, balanced by a creative and solution-focused approach.
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent).
  • Motivated, organised and capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and continuous improvement; ability to work confidently within data protection requirements and willingness to travel across the district as needed.
