Suffolk County Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist to take on a key clinical leadership role within our Adult Social Care directorate. This is a fantastic opportunity to support and influence Occupational Therapy practice across the Ipswich and East locality, contributing to high-quality, person-centred and innovative service delivery.

About the role

  • You will provide professional leadership, clinical support and supervision to Occupational Therapists across the locality.
  • Working closely with the OT Team Manager, you will support oversight of workflow, demand and waiting lists, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality service provision.
  • You will also maintain a small clinical caseload to keep your practice current and contribute to continuous improvement, integrated working and positive outcomes for adults in Suffolk.

What you will do

  • Work alongside the OT Team manager to lead and support high-quality Occupational Therapy practice across the locality.
  • Provide clinical supervision, guidance and development support to OTs.
  • Support oversight of demand, waiting lists and service priorities.
  • Contribute to audits, quality assurance and evidence-based practice improvements.
  • Work collaboratively with health and social care partners to deliver joined-up, person-centred care.
  • Lead on complex assessments and model strong professional practice.
  • Support service development, integration and transformation projects.

About the team

You will join a committed and supportive group of Occupational Therapists working across Integrated Neighbourhood Teams and locality-based services. The role plays an important part in supporting strong clinical practice, effective collaboration and a positive, values-led team culture.
