Suffolk County Council is looking for a Registration Officer.
Location: Endeavour House, Ipswich IP1 2BX. On-site working.
Salary: £34,434 per annum (pro rata). Hours: 29.5 hours per week. Contract: Permanent.

Your role and responsibilities:
- As a Registration Officer you will work directly with customers and be responsible for the registration of births, deaths and marriages.
- You will handle all legal aspects of registration and engage with customers on a 1-to-1 basis during times of heightened emotion.
- Handle financial transactions and ensure compliance with audit procedures, including working with secure stock.
- Conduct and register civil ceremonies in the Register Office and at Approved Venues during office hours.
You will need:
- Educated to level 3 standard or have clear evidence of equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Thrive on accuracy and excel in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent customer service and teamworking skills.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure, with a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to manage groups while presenting professionally.
- Ability to navigate tricky situations and resolve conflicts.

In addition to this role, you may have the opportunity to take on a zero-hour Weekend Ceremony contract if you choose. This is paid at £14.82 per hour. The contract would include conducting and registering civil ceremonies across the county at weekends.
