Role

Cover Manager – Lead the day‑to‑day management of staff absence and classroom cover arrangements across the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deploy cover staff to ensure learning continues smoothly.
  • Manage staff absence records and support effective operation of the cover budget.
  • Work closely with senior leaders, heads of department and support the cover team.
  • Line‑manage and support development of the cover team, maintaining high standards of service.

Requirements

  • Confident and resilient, with excellent organisational, communication and time‑management skills.
  • Experience of managing people, working to tight deadlines, using IT systems effectively and maintaining accurate records.
  • Prior experience in an educational setting is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of school management systems such as Arbor is desirable.

  • Capability to build positive working relationships with colleagues across the school.
  • Work starting at 7:00 am Monday to Friday.
