Somerville Heart Foundation is a patient organisation and registered charity, for young people and adults born with a heart condition. Set up over 30 years ago, by Professor Jane Somerville, a cardiologist who saw first-hand that a lifelong ‘community’ of support would be desperately needed for those she was able to help medically.

An opportunity has arisen for a Charity Administrator, and we are seeking a competent and dedicated individual who enjoys making a difference to the lives of others and working as part of a friendly office-based team. Our success depends on our people, the support and services we provide, and this is a vital role for someone who enjoys being a team player and supporting each other in making a real impact to the lives of others.

The Somerville Heart Foundation has been providing community support, resources and services for those with ACHD (Adult Congenital Heart Disease) for over 30 years and is going from strength to strength. We are seeking an exceptional person who wants to be part of that journey.

The role involves providing administrative support to the office team and Managing Director, handling a diverse range of duties. You will be an experienced all-rounder, enjoying being an essential part of the team and providing admin and organisational support to all areas of the charity’s operations. This is a vital role to increase and continually improve the services we provide as well as to improve the experience of those accessing our services and support.

A special kind of person with dedication will flourish in this role and enjoy being part of our friendly office team. There will be opportunities to engage with our members at various levels, attend team meetings and occasional events.

Candidate profile:

  • You must have at least two years previous administrative experience.
  • Be competent in Microsoft applications.
  • Efficient, keen to learn and a great communicator.
  • Sincere and committed to achieving the best results for the people we support.
  • Thrive in being part of a ‘small but mighty’ team, all working together to provide impactful, efficient and effective support for the people we serve.

We will offer you 28 days a year annual leave (including bank holidays), pension scheme contributions, and shared parking available some days.
