Responsibilities
- Work with pupils 1-to-1 or in groups, sometimes in their homes, to plan and deliver blended learning via Microsoft Teams.
- Work with a team of specialist teachers who have the knowledge and significant experience working with a range of pupils with special educational and emotional needs.
- Model positive attitudes and relationships to young people and establish a caring, safe and stimulating environment for teaching and learning.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with other professionals within your work and with parents/carers and local authority staff.
- Respond to the issues that may be affecting the young people’s ability to access the curriculum and support them appropriately.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- A strong commitment to social inclusion and equality of opportunity.
- The ability to inspire pupils to achieve their full potential.
- Resilience, self‑motivation, creativity and flexibility in your approach.
- Experience as a competent teacher working with vulnerable pupils.
- Knowledge and experience of supporting pupils with a range of special educational and emotional needs.
- Experience of managing potentially challenging behaviour.
- Experience of working in a specialist setting desirable, but not essential.
