A cover supervisor is an integral part of the school community. It is a challenging, busy and rewarding role. You will be part of a small team supporting our teaching staff by providing classroom cover and assistance. Your main task will be to take charge of classes and implement work set in the absence of a teacher. You will monitor students and report on progress during a period of short-term absence. Other duties may include examination supervision, assisting teachers generally within the classroom and administrative support.

Responsibilities

  • Cover lessons in the absence of the class teacher
  • Prioritise a good standard of learning during lessons, enabling continuity for students
  • Ensure a good standard of behaviour within the classroom and around the school
  • Report to and assist the cover manager with any other necessary tasks for the cover department
