Overview

Suffolk County Council’s Home First service provides short term reablement care and support to help people stay independent within their own home. You will join our teams across the county as a Reablement Home First Support Worker.

No Experience Is Required. To help you be successful in the role, you will receive a thorough induction, in-depth training and full support from your team to grow your skills and development. You will also have the option to complete a fully funded level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care to advance your career in Health and Social Care.

Responsibilities

  • create and maintain positive relationships with customers and family carers
  • promote health, wellbeing and independence to the customer
  • develop the independence of customers through care plans / short term enablement plans
  • provide general advice and guidance to customers to help them to make informed choices
  • at times, assist customers with dignified and intimate personal care needs
  • engage with customers, family carers and others
  • promote alternative ways to meet and maintain their long-term needs
  • promote a range of services to help people live independently and safely at home
  • track customers\’ progress against care plans
  • complete records for the ongoing review process

Requirements & Benefits

  • Salary: From £25,185 per annum with performance-related pay progression and potential earnings up to £28,142 per annum (pro rata for part time)
  • Hours: Full time or flexible part time hours available from 7.5 hours – 37 hours per week, worked on an early, late shift rota including alternate weekends. Bank flexible casual hours available (paid at £15.08 per hour); evening and/or weekend working only is available on some contracts.
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Benefits: paid mileage and travel time, enhanced payrates for Sundays paid at time and one fifth per hour, access to the Local government pension scheme, wellbeing support, childcare vouchers, high street discounts and more; refer a friend bonus up to £100 (terms apply)
