Guildhall Feoffment Community Primary School is seeking a temporary Food Service Assistant to cover a period of Maternity Leave. Working within the school kitchen in central Bury St Edmunds, you will be motivated, friendly, and can thrive in a busy kitchen environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • assisting in the preparation of school meals
  • setting out the dining room furniture before lunchtime service
  • displaying prepared food for counter service, including checking of temperatures
  • assisting in the serving of meals to children, school staff and visitors
  • collecting and disposing of waste food and materials
  • cleaning the dining room and putting furniture away
  • washing-up or cleaning items of crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, equipment, etc. in accordance with instructions received, reporting any faults or defects noticed to the Head of Kitchen.
