East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work, delivering essential local services and making a real difference to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk. We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Capital Programme Team as a Contracts Manager.

Your role:

  • You will be responsible for successful contract management and delivery of the Warm Homes programme to implement whole house energy efficiency upgrades.
  • Managing the programmed works ensuring statutory obligations relating to safety is fully complied with.
  • Working collaboratively with supplier(s) to ensure high quality outcomes with regard to cost, quality, and time.
  • Responsibility for budget management and cost control of the programme.
  • Responsible for ensuring reporting and governance requirements of external funders are fully met.

Flexible working is applicable for this role but it is desirable for the post holder to work 2 days a week in Lowestoft.

What you will need:

  • You will have significant commercial experience and management of contracts and have knowledge of energy efficiency programmes.
  • You will be commercially astute with good people management skills, including the ability to motivate a team to perform to their optimum ability.
  • Having a relevant qualification in surveying/ contracts manager or that you are willing to complete a level 5 or above in a relevant qualification is essential and having a professional body membership (CIOB/RICS/CABE) is desirable.
