Pushforward Secondary Education Limited is seeking a Secondary Education Delivery Practitioner Tutor. Do you have a passion to help young people find their confidence and spark? Are you able to practically apply subjects to engage young people? Pushforward has spent 13 years developing provision for the education of young people who do not fit within a mainstream approach to learning. We believe that every young person has the right to be an individual, to know they matter, have a voice, feel safe and confident enough to progress through the world in a way which makes them smile.

In addition, if you have skills or passion that you can teach young people, that would be amazing. You don't need to have teaching experience, just a passion for sharing knowledge and giving our learners a direction to start in.

Qualifications: Not as important as Experience!

Our work happens on a one-to-one and small group basis covering lots of different themes:

Requirements:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • You must have a full clean driving licence with business insurance and own transport.

You will be responsible for working with young people aged 11-25 on a one-to-one or group basis providing valuable life skills. You will work alongside other members of staff and on a one-to-one basis to provide intensive outreach work and onsite provision to students on role with complex emotional and behavioural challenges that stop them engaging and progressing. You will liaise with other staff, family, and the child themselves to gain an understanding of how best to work and engage with them during delivery.

The main objective of the role will be to break down the barriers to student’s engagement in their provision and support their navigation through the provision. The role will include:

  • Engaging with young people through conversational education to better understand themselves
  • Develop projects with young people to find their spark
  • Liaising with professionals, family, and other influencers
  • Unpick progression barriers and move them closer to the next stage
  • Encourage an interest in academic subjects through a practical application of skills
  • Evidencing progression through a variety of tools
  • Engaging parents/carers providing holistic support
  • Evidencing, understanding and presenting of information gleaned from students
  • Provide both reactive and proactive methods of delivery
  • Support wider barriers in young people’s lives
  • To support the delivery of one-to-one and group delivery for Pushforward Education - onsite and remotely

Tasks to include:

  • Development and Delivery of sessions for one-to-one students or in small groups
  • Developing relationships for community engagement and work experience
  • All the supporting paperwork associated with curriculum and evidencing delivery
  • When required, transporting students to and from units. This may involve up to 45 minutes of driving throughout the day (in addition to travel to and from work)
  • Liaise with administration to ensure evidence of work
  • Follow strict safeguarding and health and safety protocols as part of Pushforward procedures

Work Location: Varied but local, depending on the young people you are working with.
