Position: Park Ranger – Brandon Country Park, Brandon, Suffolk
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £14,011.70 per annum
Hours: 19.95 hours per week (1040 annualised hours on a fixed rota)
Responsibilities:- Work with volunteers on conservation, maintenance and landscaping tasks
- Patrol parks and public open spaces
- Meet and advise the public on the use of facilities
- Enforce regulations
- Promote a customer-oriented approach
- Assist in the running of events and activities
- Maintain protection and security of all facilities, equipment, flora, fauna and ancient monuments
- Experience working with the public in garden or parks contexts
- Effective communication, helpful and tactful public interaction skills, enthusiasm, numeracy and literacy
- Knowledge of the local area and ability to use handheld mechanical equipment (desirable)
- Full driving licence required
- Holiday entitlement of 25 days, increasing to 29 days after 5 years (pro-rata if part-time) plus bank holidays, with option to buy up to 10 extra days each year subject to approval
- Generous pension scheme – contribution between 5.5% and 6.8% (depending on salary) and council contribution of 16.4%
