Suffolk Classic Services is a growing, independent specialist workshop near Woodbridge, Suffolk. We maintain, repair, restore and improve vintage, classic and selected modern prestige vehicles, with particular expertise in Jaguar models. Our workload is varied: one day may involve an everyday classic and the next a rare Jaguar, Mini, MG, Triumph, Porsche or Aston Martin. We are looking for an experienced mechanic/technician who takes pride in careful workmanship and wants to contribute to a friendly, knowledgeable team. The role You will carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnosis, repairs, upgrades and light restoration work across a wide range of classic and prestige vehicles. You will take ownership of each job, work methodically and record progress accurately so that customers and colleagues receive clear, reliable information. Key responsibilities include: Servicing and preventive maintenance Mechanical and electrical fault-finding Diagnosis and repair of vehicle systems and components Mechanical repairs, upgrades and light restoration work Inspection, testing and quality control Accurate job records and clear communication with the workshop team Helping to maintain a clean, organised and professional workshop About you We are looking for a dependable, self-motivated technician who combines strong practical ability with close attention to detail. You will be comfortable working independently, taking responsibility for your work and approaching unfamiliar problems with patience and sound judgement. Essential experience and skills: At least 10 years’ experience in motor vehicle mechanics or a closely related trade Proven ability to carry out mechanical and electrical fault-finding Broad experience of servicing, maintenance and repair A genuine interest in vintage, classic and prestige vehicles Clear written, verbal and digital communication skills Accurate and consistent record-keeping Full UK driving licence Knowledge of Jaguar vehicles, carburettor and ignition systems, vehicle electrics, fabrication or restoration work would be advantageous, but a willingness to learn and apply your existing experience is equally important.
