Policy Officer – Suffolk Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Policy Officer to help shape and inform the political and policy agenda and drive economic growth on behalf of our membership and wider business community. Suffolk Chamber is a leading business organisation with a significant voice to those in power, with devolution, infrastructure, skills, climate adaptation, and promoting a strong economy all playing a vital role to our strategic aims. In this varied Policy Officer role, you will have the opportunity to work across several key work streams at a time of great potential change. What You’ll Do: * Work across the organisation and with a range of stakeholders and government departments to respond to Government consultations and identify current and emerging sector and place-specific issues * Monitor, research and respond to key Government publications including consultations, White Papers and relevant reports and legislation, pulling together complex information to provide timely advice and producing concise, impactful briefings * Lead on a number of working groups on key topics such as devolution, infrastructure, skills, climate adaptation, and promoting a strong economy What We’re Looking For: * A keen interest in local and national current affairs * Experience in researching and analysing complex legislation and information to make recommendations and provide policy advice * The ability to identify and analyse emerging trends, risks, and opportunities to inform policy development * Experience of building and managing senior level stakeholder relationships At Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, we pride ourselves on building a culture that values both our staff and the organisations we serve.
