Site Operative

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play an important role in helping customers recycle responsibly while supporting the safe and efficient running of the site.

Providing excellent customer service is central to this role, as you’ll guide members of the public on how to use the site effectively and maximise the recovery of recyclable materials.

Your responsibilities

• Maintaining accurate records for the removal and movement of materials
• Booking container exchanges to ensure the site always has space to segregate and store materials correctly
• Keeping your designated areas clean, tidy and safe
• Ensuring SUEZ meets its legal duties regarding health, safety and welfare
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to comply with the site permit, legislation and company policies
• Carrying out any other reasonable duties within the scope of the role

What We’re Looking For

This role offers the opportunity to gain industry‑recognised qualifications, including IOSH Health & Safety and COTC Level 4 (waste‑specific). We’re looking for an enthusiastic team player who is committed to delivering high standards and supporting the wider site team.

You’ll need

• Strong customer service skills and the ability to work well within a team
• A flexible approach to work, including the ability to cover holidays and sickness when required
• Ideally, some experience using mobile plant equipment (full training provided)
