Overview
A Transfer Station 4 on 4 off Site Operative position has become available within the Northumberland PFI Operations Team.
Responsibilities
- Operating the weighbridge and following waste acceptance procedures to ensure correct and safe import and export of materials.
- Operating the loading shovel to stockpile material and load wagons for the export of material
- Maintaining accurate records for the import and export of material and of all activities on the site.
- Daily stock takes and daily input of load details for stand-alone HWRCs
- Maintenance of site equipment and tools
- Ensuring that within his/her areas of responsibility, SUEZ Recycling & Recovery UK Ltd complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions, including site visitors and contractors.
- Co-operating with SUEZ R & R UK Ltd and with other employees in order to comply with site permit, all applicable legislation and SUEZ R & R UK Ltd Policies and Procedures
- Undertaking first aider duties and fire warden duties on site
- Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role
- This is an ideal opportunity to work as part of a small team in a Transfer Station, which has a large emphasis on recycling. SUEZ R & R UK Ltd is committed to the training and progression of its employees and can offer you the opportunity for future advancement and development within our company.
The Person
- We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to obtain a full working understanding of the site licence / permit and who will work to ensure site operations exceed the standards required.
- A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you may be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
- The successful applicant will be required to undertake personal development to obtain skills for good customer service, waste acceptance, maintenance of site equipment, infrastructure and operation of site machinery e.g. loading shovel.
- Basic computer skills for the input and recording of data on SUEZ R & R UK Ltd weighbridge and reporting systems are a requirement for this position.
