Summary of vacancy:
Are you a highly motivated Transport Manager with experience in commercial waste collections? Here at SUEZ, we have an opportunity for a Senior Transport Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of our Industrial and Commercial collections team based in Poole. You will be responsible for delivering outstanding service to our diverse customer base and ensuring the profitability of the depot meets the regional expectations.
About The Role:
We offer a package up to £71,327.00 (inclusive of basic salary, bonus and company car allowance). MUST have I&C experience in a multi-drop logistics environment– high volume – low margin Full Time / Permanent position.
What will I be doing?
- Overall managerial responsibility of the depot ensuring it operates efficiently, meeting agreed service levels and delivering our regional strategy.
- Ensure activities within operations are carried out with the highest regard to Compliance.
- Create a “customer first” culture that encourages staff to give their very best while working with our team to provide the best operational solutions.
- Through pro-active driver management ensure minimal damage/ maintenance requirements to vehicles and efficient usage of fuel.
- Responsible for reviewing our offering and putting customer retention, growth and conversion strategies into action.
What are the requirements?
- Background / Experience: minimum of 2 years’ experience in a managerial position of a multi-drop logistics environment– high volume – low margin business, operated in a continuous improvement environment.
- Specific Knowledge: IOSH or equivalent, Full CPC National Road Haulage, Computer skills (MS, Excel, Word).
- Business understanding: strong financial/operational skills with track record of route planning / operational productivity and service level improvements.
- Compliance: understands the need to operate in a compliant manner whilst at the same time competing in a challenging environment.
- Customers (external and internal): ability to relate to managing service levels, creating positive customer experience whilst managing expectations, maximising customer loyalty and profit levels.
- People: open communication skills, experience of building successful teams.
