The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.

What will I be doing? You will carry out duties individually, or as a member of a team, for operations to control, transfer and stockpile waste & recyclables at a busy material transfer station. The role will involve:

  • Operating mobile and fixed plant, including cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
  • Managing traffic, such as guiding tipping vehicles.
  • Operating the weighbridge and accurately recording the weight and other specified details of vehicles both entering and leaving the site.
  • Ensuring that SUEZ complies fully with its legal duties, in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by his/her actions or omissions.
  • Co-operating with SUEZ and with other employees in order to comply with site permits, all applicable legislation and SUEZ Policies and Procedures.
  • Co-operating directly with customers and members of the public, providing excellent customer service.
  • Any other duties that are reasonably requested within the scope of the job-role, including undertaking first aider / fire safety duties on site.

What are the requirements? We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to obtain a working knowledge of the site licence / permit system and who will work to ensure site operations meet the standards required. You'll need a flexible approach, working in a challenging environment, expected to provide cover for annual leave and on occasion to help cover weekends, as well as:

  • Operational experience and current licences for loading shovel, 360 tele-handler and forklift.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to undertake personal development to obtain skills for waste acceptance, maintenance of site equipment, infrastructure and operation of site machinery.
  • Prior waste / recycling or similar process environment highly advantageous.
  • Excellent understanding and approach to health & safety.
  • Great communication and customer service skills.
  • Good IT skills.
